Located Along Mission Bay
Depending on where you read, Bayside Walk is anywhere from 4 to 5 miles one way, so be prepared to walk at least 8 miles if you return the way you came. Paved for easy walking, it meanders along Mission Bay, offering stunning views and a variety of beaches for those who prefer to take breaks in their swimsuits while frolicking in the surf. Parking can be found on both ends of the trail, with restrooms located in the parking lot of your starting point as well as a little further along the trail. It starts in Crown Point Park, ending not far from Dog Beach, but the walk itself does not appear to be dog friendly, so if you are staying in one of our pet friendly escapes, leave sweet Sadie behind. You can always drive back and take her to the beach later.
An Easy Stroll, Bike Ride, Or Blading Trail
One of the things we love most about this trail is its paved surface, allowing us to bring our infants in strollers along for the walk. Bayside Walk is also popular with bicyclists and skaters, so even as most who use the trail are mindful, it doesn’t hurt to keep an eye out for the faster moving explorers. Many houses are located along the trail, giving hikers the opportunity to take a peek at how the other half lives, especially as the homes face the water, ensuring that homeowners and guests never have to be out of sight of the sea.
