Day 1: Every Journey Begins with a Single Meal

The culinary landscape of Mission Beach is an exciting one, and even though we offer fully equipped kitchens in our Mission Beach sanctuaries, we would be remiss if we didn’t direct you towards some of our favorite restaurants. Molly’s, located at 3770 Mission Boulevard, is where we think your journey should begin. Open every day of the week for breakfast and lunch and serving all three meals Thursday through Sunday, Molly’s is that place you go when you want to feel comfortable and a part of the community while enjoying great food, and their passion for feeding hungry people shows in every dish they create.

Day 2: Souvenirs to Savor

There is just something so satisfying about catching a glimpse of that magnet you purchased during your Minnesota vacation, that mini Eiffel Tower you picked up in Paris, and that colorful blanket you bought from a vendor in Mexico, and when you travel to Mission Beach, you are going to want to drop by Treasures by the Bay and pick up a few treasures to remind you of your California dream vacation. Located at 3232 Mission Boulevard, this fun shop has it all including an oversized Adirondack chair emblazoned with the words Mission Beach, making it a wonderful spot to take a selfie.

Day 3: We All Scream for Ice Cream

The simple pleasure of enjoying a frosty treat on a warm summer’s day is one that everyone should get to experience and while in Mission Beach, we suggest that the Baked Bear will become your regular spot. Located at 4516 Mission Boulevard and specializing in ice cream sandwiches, their cookies and their ice cream are created onsite, offering a fresh and delightful treat that you will crave long after you return home to real life.

Day 4: Venturing Out a Little Further

The beauty of a Mission Beach vacation is the realization that ALL the fun areas of San Diego are intertwined, and although you can stay close to your vacation escape your entire trip, you don’t have to. So on day four, we are venturing out a little further, encouraging travelers to explore the steak and ale savory pies found at Pop Pie (4404 Park Boulevard, Suite E in San Diego), to plan on a day spent discovering all that Balboa Park has to offer (located in San Diego), and maybe take a tour of the USS Midway Museum (910 Harbor Drive in San Diego), where the museum is a decommissioned naval aircraft carrier.

Day 5: A Night Out in Mission Beach

Date nights don’t have to be skipped just because you are on vacation and the Mission Beach area is known for their fun night life options, making date night memorable. Start out the evening with a sunset dinner at Oceana Coastal Kitchen, 3999 Mission Boulevard, offering an upscale dining experience and patio seating with views that won’t quit. 710 Beach Club, 710 Garnet Avenue, offers a beach bites menu, live music, and televisions that are always showing the big games, and after both, young couples of all ages can enjoy a moonlit walk along the shore’s edge on Mission Beach.

Day 6: The Curtain Rises in La Jolla

La Jolla is another one of those beachfront towns that brings peace and joy to all who visit, and it is conveniently located just minutes away from the shores of Mission Beach, making a dinner show at the La Jolla Playhouse another exciting nightlife option. Located at 2910 La Jolla Village Drive, its pedigree is pretty fantastic as Gregory Peck is one of its founders, the playhouse offers preshow dining and a wide selection of shows performed by talented actors guaranteed to intrigue and delight.
