Located at the same spot since 1985, this classic restaurant was named after a real man, not a video game character, like some might expect. The meals that were served here at that time were family recipes containing secret ingredients that made each dish shine bright and although he did eventually sell the restaurant to the current owners, the dishes served today are made from those original recipes, ensuring the good taste continues for generations to come. Luigi’s isn’t fancy and its prices aren’t outrageous, but it is a good family restaurant serving scratch made Italian dishes while televisions hanging from the wall allow guests to watch the big game, whatever it is at the time. Efficient servers are cheerful and welcoming.
The Menu
Every dish is made from scratch, nothing is canned or processed, a fact that mom’s will greatly appreciate, feeling good about allowing their children to eat here. What you may not want to have them participate in, however, is the Luigi’s at the Beach Pizza Eating Challenge, where two people must eat an entire 30-inch pizza in an hour, getting the pizza for free and winning two Luigi’s t-shirts! In any case, the menu is extensive, offering not just pizza and pasta, but appetizers (oh how we love the steamed mussels), sandwiches, and hamburgers, plus New York Cheesecake and a dessert that changes on a daily basis. Offering a full bar, 15 beers on tap, and the opportunity to order take out or delivery, even the cocktails, this local hot spot checks off all the boxes for deliciousness.
