The Mission Restaurant

We have all been raised on the importance of the first meal of the day and our mission at Penny Realty, Inc is to guide our guests to the local flavors found at the Mission Restaurant located in Mission Beach. Open since 1995, there have been some changes over the years, but their dedication to breakfast has never been more strong and as you go about your San Diego area adventures, your stomach will be full, your soul will be happy, and your energy levels will be boundless. This guide will give you a peek into what a delicious breakfast in San Diego looks like!

Located at 3795 Mission Boulevard, Open at 7 AM Daily

The Mission is known for its fiery Mexican breakfast dishes, and when you step inside for the first time, it’s color, its vibrancy, and the people chattering happily over meals of chilaquiles or huevos rancheros will take you south of the border for at least a little while and without the need of a passport. Walls are lined with the artwork of local artists, all for sale if you are interested, and large plate windows peek out onto the tree-lined expanse of Mission Boulevard.

Service is friendly, prices are wonderfully reasonable, and the casual vibe will ensure that parents will never feel uncomfortable bringing children to their tables. Once a family owned restaurant, The Mission was recently sold (within the last couple of years) to a restaurant group who immediately understood the importance of not changing all that is good, and their only changes have been in quantity; there are now three Mission Restaurants for your dining pleasure!

The Menu

The menu of the Mission Restaurant, while focusing on the breakfast dishes of the old country, does offer an international flair. Pancakes, French toast, and because this IS California after all, avocado toast are some of their basic American dishes, but you can enjoy a taste of Italy with their frittatas and their Loco Moco could have come straight from the kitchen of Hawaiian royalty.

Sweet corn and chili tamales satisfy our soul and a simple breakfast quesadilla brings a similar comfort that grilled cheese does on a cold and rainy day. Using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, parents bringing their children in for breakfast can feel good about serving them healthy foods.
